Pastor's Corner

To God Be The Glory Family!

I thank each and every one of you for your prayers for us as we ministered to the people of Uganda. We serve a mighty God and we saw Him do mighty things while we were there.

As we talk about “The Giving of Your Best” this month we must continue to realize that we must do all things with a spirit of excellence as unto the glory of God—in every area of our lives. This is a lifestyle. It’s a daily walk. It has to do with consistency and integrity. God has called us to represent Him in character—to be “like” Christ. Well, let’s look at what that includes. In order to be “likened” unto Christ we must have the mind of Christ. Well, what type of mind did Christ have? It consists of these things:

  1. Honesty (real, genuine, sincere, straight forward, not deceptive, truthful—I Chron. 28:9; 2 Cor. 5:17).
  2. Teachable (positive, not negative with words, honorable, eager and open, believes in results, will receive truth, will receive the Word of God with more readiness of mind and searches the Scripture daily, doesn’t search Bible to disapprove it but to see if what it says is true—Acts 17:1-12).
  3. Transformed (is steadily advancing, follows God’s truths, new mentality, no longer judges or understands as it once did, now is keyed to finding and following God, improved, changed—Rom. 12:2).
  4. Powerful (strong, mighty, puts down, casts down, wrecks, cuts off any reasoning, argument or thought which is against the knowledge of God, this mind is meant to be controlled, this mind has the ability to concentrate, focus, communicate, discuss, express, reason things out, is not forgetful).
  5. Disciplined (has energy, accomplishes things, controlled, is molded, trained, orderly—Neh. 4:6; 2 Tim. 2:15; Ps. 1:2; Phil. 4:7; Isa. 26:3).
  6. Submitted (yielded, obeys—Matt. 4:7).

A Thought For The Week: “The greatest danger of worldly success is self-sufficiency—it so easily masks spiritual poverty.”

(God’s Best For Your Success)

In HIS Service,
Pastor John Peyton
